Polimoney

Transparency in political funding: building a dashboard that makes political funds visible

Illustration of Polimoney

The "Polimoney" project was launched to solve problems around politics and money from the bottom up, modeled on the highly transparent system for running politics used in Sweden.

The Swedish example

In Sweden, politicians and public officials are issued official credit cards and are required to use them for public spending. The system is designed for transparency: every expense is recorded and can be accessed by the public and the media.

By bringing a similar system to Japan, we aim to reduce the administrative cost of handling political funds and to make transparent, trustworthy politics happen from the bottom up.

How to adopt it

Next steps

We are also developing "Polimoney Ledger", accounting software for political and election campaign funds that can output income and expenditure reports (or supporting CSV files for making them) and files compatible with Polimoney.
